Preface
The Seventh National Conference of the Italian Systems Society is held in conjunction with its 21 years of activity after its foundation. This Congress is dedicated to the memory of Prof. George J. Klir (April 22, 1932–May 27, 2016), one of the greatest scientists that Systemics can boast of. The list of his contributions to Systemics, of the positions he held, and of the academic acknowledgments he received is so long that it would be impossible to condense it in the few words of this dedication. Some names of the domains in which Klir had worked, as a contributor rather than a true creator, are enough to give an account of the size of his interests and his volcanic activity: systems modeling and simulation, systems logic design, computers architecture, discrete mathematics,
