The Marriage of Healthcare Ethics and Film Healthcare ethics issues generally deal with healthcare delivery and healthcare access as a subset of societal “goods.” They may be entangled with wider social and political problems, such as discrimination and distributive justice issues; more organizational systems problems due to organizational decision making, leadership, and policies; or professionalism and other behaviors, which then interferes with the overall delivery of health care to patients. Healthcare ethics dilemmas and clinical ethics dilemmas are distinct. Clinical ethics dilemmas deal with more direct healthcare provider–patient issues, or “bedside” issues that comprise end-of-life care; decision-making capacity issues; weighing therapeutic benefits against risks and side effects; clinical trials and experimental therapies.
