Preface
Numerical simulation-based design is the linchpin in the development of the innovative high-end equipment in the manufacturing industry. In the stage of mechanical equipment design, the performances in manufacturing, assembly, service, and maintenance can be comprehensively synthesized with the application of the numerical simulation. It greatly reduces the trial and test number of the physical prototypes, shortens the design cycle, effectively improves the design quality, and reduces substantially the cost of the traditional serial design. Although numerical simulation has demonstrated the outstanding advantages and potential application prospects, at the present stage, practical implementation of the simulation-based mechanical design in the equipment manufacturing industry and engineering is still not widespread. The reason lies
