Web 2.0: Tagging Usefulness Joaquim Filipe P. Santos and Ana Almeida
Abstract User tagging in social networks has emerged in the recent years like a very promising way of new knowledge extraction. Our work focus is to understand tags importance and the correlation between them and user emotions. Understanding the meaning of certain tags for a single and unique user will allow the creation of better profiles almost without asking anything directly to users. This knowledge generation will allow the creation of a Social Recommender System for Tourism only based in the knowledge previous referred. Keywords Social networks • Tags • Tourism • Emotions • Recommendation

Introduction
This work has its main focus directed to the understanding and evolution/enhancement of several current Web 2.0 mechanisms, in which the most important are tags. Web 2.0 arrival a few years ago has started a new world of opportunities in social systems that appeared to respond to users’ needs of network interaction. The choice of these topics is due to current worldwide impact of the underlying technologies and theories and finally, and most important, the existence of a

strong improvement space which can be exploited in order to enhance utility and usefulness of such technologies. In order to fulfill our goals, in this work is essential to start by understanding how several Web 2.0 based technologies (tagging, blogging, twitting, etc.) are being currently applied and detect improvement techniques by which one or many of them can be further perfected, for instance, in order to get better and richer knowledge about users that can be used to create automated profiles, along with the development of a system in which those techniques are indeed applied. Some knowledge based techniques like, Case-based reasoning, Neural networks, Bayesian networks seems to be promising approaches in achieving good results. This research assumes a vital importance in areas like commercial, marketing, tourism, and any other area where individual user knowledge is a key factor but is not available. This paper starts, in Sect. 31.2, with a state-of-art that is divided in the main themes regarding tagging and social recommender systems. Section 31.3 describes the proposed approach to create new knowledge about users and the way we are going to us
