The Materials Research Societies of Serbia and Montenegro (MRS-Serbia, official successor of Yu-MRS, and MRSMontenegro, in foundation) will hold their 10th annual conference—YUCOMAT 2008—on September 8–12, 2008, at Plaza Hotel, Herceg Novi, Montenegro (www. hercegnovi.com). The Conference will feature five symposia on the topics of Advanced Methods in Synthesis and Processing of Materials, Advanced Materials for High-Technology Application, Nanostructured Materials, Composites, and Biomaterials. The confer-

ence will include plenary speakers and oral and poster presentations. The official language is English. The abstract deadline is May 1, 2008. The Presidencies of the MRS-Serbia and MRS-Montenegro will award the authors (preferably young members under 35) of the best oral and poster presentation at the conference, as well as award authors of highly rated PhD and MSc theses defended between two conferences. The benefits include free registration and Conference Proceedings. A workshop on the INCOMAT project
from the Sixth Framework Program, an exhibition of synthesis and characterization equipment, and tutorials on especially interesting topics for young researchers are planned to be held during the Conference. The traditional Cocktail Party on Monday evening and afternoon excursions to Dubrovnik, Croatia on Wednesday and Boka Kotorska Bay on Friday will be organized.
