Abstract In this paper, we concentrate the application of parametric reduction of soft set in decision making problem. The main purpose of the paper is to select the key parameters for selection or purchase of objects. Using key parameters person or selection committee will select the optimal choice object. We put forward an algorithm in decision making problem and provide some examples. We focus on parameter reduction of soft set and how it helpful in effective and efficient decision making of the people in a short time. Keywords Soft set · Choice value · Rough set · Parameterization reduction
1 Introduction Most of the practical problems including social sciences, management sciences, engineering, artificial intelligence and many other fields deal with the complexity of uncertain data. To get the useful information in uncertain data, researchers in mathematics, computer science and many other related areas have proposed a number of theories such as probability theory, Fuzzy set (Zadah 1965; Atanassov 1986, 1994), rough set (Pawlak 1982), etc. In 1999 Malodtsov proposed the concepts of soft set as anew mathematical tool to deal with uncertainties (Molodtsov 1999, 2004; Pawlak 1994). Majhi et al. (2002), Cagman and Enginoglu (2010a, b), Nasef and Elsayed (2017), Ray and Majhi (2007), applied soft sets to decision making problems. Feng et al. (2010) introduced the application of level soft set in decision making on intervalvalued fuzzy soft sets. Jiang et al. (2011) introduced an adjustable approach to intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets in decision making. Zhang et al. (2014) introduced a novel approach to interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets in decision making. Deli and Cagman (2015) introduced intuitionistic Communicated by V. Loia.

fuzzy parameterized soft sets in decision making. The decision making method requires a systematic procedure to define parameters which are necessary to take final decision as well as focus on how to bringing accuracy for collecting data for different parameters. The decision required by the people for purchasing a house/TV/car/selecting of candidates for a post always is being a difficult task. Because such decision parameters carries different importance to different people. To solve such problem is a difficult task. Some papers presented application of soft sets in decision making problems by using reduct-soft-set, i.e. the application of soft set in combination with rough set. They use algorithm to compute first a reduct-soft-set and then obtain max choice value of that reduct-soft-set. Since the reduct soft set are not unique, different reduct-s
