Preface

Over three and a half decades of professional involvement in the field of hydrogeology and mining has necessitated in writing a handbook on Mine Hydrogeology which would serve the mining professionals, mine hydrogeologists, and graduate students. Keeping this requirement in mind, an attempt has been made to write this book which includes original field research of the author for various mine hydrogeological studies. All original sources are acknowledged wherever are appropriate. References have been given at the end of each chapter. My efforts would be successful if this book comes in handy to those for whom it is written. P. K. Deb
