This book is a comprehensive, highly illustrated guide of thymic pathology for postgraduate residents, students, clinicians, and practicing pathologists. The book begins with reviewing the normal thymic structure and its immunohistochemical profile. The next section deals with the gross images of thymic lesions/tumors and histomorphology of nonneoplastic diseases, benign and malignant thymic tumors, with detailed descriptions of over 300 full-color photomicrographs accompanied by relevant clinical and radiology pictures and anatomical drawings. All photographs are complemented by short legends describing the illustration and providing relevant information. In addition to surgical pathology, a chapter is dedicated to the cytology of thymic lesions which is described rarely in available textbooks and literature. All types and stages of the most common thymic lesion that is thymoma is discussed in detail.
