Ethnography is an intimately affective and entangled business. In this book, the children were our real teachers: They taught us how to do ethnography intimately—they taught us to listen, observe—they taught us how to un-theorise in order to theorise anew. They taught us phenomenology. We are deeply indebted to all the children and the parents who took part in this ethnographic project. In order to preserve their privacy, all accounts were anonymised, and pseudonyms were used throughout the volume.
