Preface

The development of increasingly advanced technologies has contributed to substantial progress in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of many dermatologic diseases in the last decades. Sophisticated equipment such as laser and in vivo reflectance confocal microscopy, methodologies such as photodynamic therapy, and biological products such as acellular deepidermized dermis, stem cells, and in vitro expanded epidermis have progressively led to the identification and construction of a new and more effective approach to the management of dermatological patients suffering from complex diseases like epithelial and melanocytic tumors, pigmentation disorders, and loss of skin substance. This book aims to offer the medical reader and dermatologists, in particular, a consultation tool capable of presenting the huge amount of data that has been gradually accumulated in recent years clearly and synthetically. Particular attention has been paid to the progress of technologi
