Desmopressin Neurological symptoms in the form of generalised tonic-clonic seizure and cerebral oedema secondary to hyponatraemia: 2 case reports
In a case series, two women (a pregnant woman who had Von Willebrand disease and another woman who had thrombocyte disfunction) [ages not stated] were described, who developed severe neurological symptoms in the form of generalised tonic-clonic seizure and cerebral oedema secondary to hyponatraemia following occasional use of desmopressin. Over 24 hours of use of desmopressin, both these women developed generalised tonic-clonic seizures and cerebral oedema secondary to serious hyponatraemia [dosages, routes and outcomes not stated].
