We propose a two-level integrated criterion for the rational choice of polymeric composite materials (PCM) intended for application in the structures of civil aircrafts. The components of this integrated criterion are analyzed for all stages of the life cycle of aircrafts. The entire complex of informative data required for the choice of a certain kind of PCM is also described. Keywords: polymeric composite material, classification, efficiency, criterion.

Introduction In [1], we synthesized and analyzed the classification aspects of the rational choice of polymeric composite materials (PCM) for the structures of civil aircrafts. We proposed the basic criteria for the efficient choice of a kind of PCM, including the characteristics of load-carrying capacity of the material, the cost of manufacturing of a unit mass of PCM structure, the level of safety determined by the degree of harmful actions upon the operator and upon environment in the processes of manufacturing and operation of the corresponding products, and the technological efficiency and labor consumption required for the transformation of semifinished composites into the products. We also developed a method for the estimation of the rational choice of PCM taking into account the relationships between the proposed criteria. The problem of synthesis of the integrated and efficient criterion for the choice of PCM is quite complicated and multidimensional. In the previous works, it was solved by taking into account solely the principle of maximization of a particular criterion aimed at improving the specific characteristics of load-carrying capacity, which determines the weight output of the structure K ρ , without taking into account the influence of the other particular criteria proposed earlier [1]. However, it is clear that, in this statement of the problem, the accuracy of the obtained results significantly decreases. In the present work, we make an attempt to synthesize a two-level scheme for the solution of the problem in its general formulation. Results and Discussion The posed complex problem can be solved by the method of expert judgments [2–4], by using the theoretical foundations of engineering predictions [5–7], by applying the ideology of praxiological approach to the design of technical objects [6, 7], and by generalizing the results accumulated earlier in designing the structures of civil aircrafts made of PCM [8–15]. 1 2 3
