Memento of Maurizio Grillenzoni On May 9th 1997 Professor Maurizio Grillenzoni, who held the Chair in Rural Appraisal in the Faculty of Agriculture in the University of Bologna and who also was Director of the Agricultural and Territorial Systems Management Research Center of the Italian National Research Council, passed away. He became Assistant Professor at this Faculty while still very young, and in the 1970s was appointed Full Professor. From among national and international scientific societies he belonged to, I would like to mention the National Advisory Committee on Agricultural Sciences ofthe Italian National Research Council; the Central Census Commission-where he presided over the Land Bureau; and the Territorial Appraisal and Territorial Economics Study Cen
