Dear Reader, In spite of careful checking by the authors and the editorial team a mistake has occurred. In the former print edition of this book on page 1048 the picture did not show Arthur John Birch, but instead Stephen Pyne, Professor at the University of Wollongong, Australia, and recipient of the A.J.
