Preface
This book is the outcome of a truly cooperative repeated game among the four authors, which evolved over a long time horizon. The origins of the book can be traced back to 2007, when three of the authors came together to mount a doctoral course on game theory and fisheries management and realized that no published relevant teaching material existed. Three years later, the same three authors presented the doctoral course once more and prepared the first draft of a table of contents for the book. The idea then lay dormant for several years until 2016, when it was revived, and the Grand Coalition was expanded from three to four. It was realized that the theoretical contribution, in of and by itself, would be insufficient; that it would be essential to reach out, not only to students and academics, but to stakeholders and policymakers as well.
