Preface

Power line carrier (PLC) communication along high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) electric power transmission lines (PL) is a common type of telecommunication used in the electric power industry. During more than 100 years of PLC, theoretical basis for designing PLC channels, methods for determining high frequency (HF) path parameters and noise characteristics, coupling schemes, principles for constructing HF paths over phase conductors, conducting ground wires, and intra-phase and intra-cable connections have been developed. PLC technology has developed to meet current industry requirements: principles of PLC equipment designing, modulation methods, and the theory of signal processing and coupling devices have changed significantly. This book considers PLC channels along 35–750 kV alternating current (AC) electric p
