Lack of efficacy: case report In a retrospective study of 5 paediatric patients (aged 12–15 years) who had Takayasu arteritis and who had been followed at the Pediatric Rheumatology clinic at Stanford Children’s Health, USA from May 2019 to January 2020, a paediatric patient was described [sex and exact age not stated], who exhibited lack of efficacy following treatment with methotrexate, infliximab and unspecified glucocorticoids for Takayasu arteritis [dosages and routes not stated]. The paediatric patient, who had severe symptoms of Takayasu arteritis, received induction treatment with methotrexate, infliximab and glucocorticoids [specific drug not stated]. However, the treatment course was found to be refractory. The patient was therefore treated with tocilizumab and eventually with cyclophosphamide. Khalsa U, et al.
