Foreword This is the first book dedicated to pericardial interventional procedures joining a long-term clinical and research experience of the leading experts in the field from both sides of the Atlantic. It comes a decade after the book “Pericardiology: Contemporary answers to continuing challenges” edited by Seferovic, Spodick, and Maisch, and many important publications on pericardial disease, function and pathophysiology, as well as several excellent international conferences on myocardial and pericardial disease, and the first international guidelines on pericardial diseases, authored by the same group. Professors Maisch, Seferović, and Ristić have built over the years a fruitful cooperation and a strong, comprehensive program for the study of myocardial and pericardial diseases.
