Rock beach
Electron micrograph of leaf-like setae and granular warts coating the exterior of a desert beetle. False color adds the effect of a Jack-o’-lantern.
Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of Ag nanoflakes on rough poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) showing similarities to a rocky beach. The SEM image was taken using a Hitachi S-4800 Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope, and Ag fake colors were added using computer software without manipulation of the original image.
