This book and the program it offers the world are a pioneering effort to bring mindfulness into the domain of parenting and the mental health care of stressed families, for the benefit of both the children and their parents. When we wrote the first edition of our book on mindful parenting, published in 1997, it did not include a formal program for parents, nor a curriculum for training health professionals to teach parents.
