Mining capital is capital required to develop mines from exploration, feasibility studies, mine design, construction, and commissioning to operation; capital to refinance and modernize old mines; capital to purchase mining, processing, and related mine infrastructure equipment; and capital to acquire mines. The supply of commodities remains vital to the development of modern society. While the minerals in demand have moved toward metals required for electric vehicles, renewable energy technologies, and smart phones, base metals and industrial minerals remain vital for the construction industry and manufacturing industry. A growing population requires food stability, and fertilizers produced from minerals remain vital. Energy minerals ensure that base load power is available for energy generation together with renewable energy.
