Preface

As data mining techniques and tools mature, their application domains extend to previous unchartered territories. The common theme of the workshops organized along with the main 2008 Pacific Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD) in Osaka, Japan was to extend the application of data mining techniques to new frontiers.
