Normative Measurements of the Craniocervical Junction on Imaging
The craniocervical junction extends from the basiocciput to the second cervical interspace. This chapter reviews the normative measurements of the craniovertebral junction. In particular, the various lines and angles for quantitatively describing the cran

Foreword
The head and neck region is considered as one of the most complex anatomical parts of the body. Therefore, many radiologists have concerns reading CT and MRIs of the head and neck region. The chapters of this Manual of Normative Measurements in Head and Neck Imaging will aid you in the interpretation of scans with excellent image examples and informative measurement technique. The book is conveniently divided by body regions, ranging from the orbit, the most complex region the temporal bone with its narrow anatomical landmarks, the skull base, cervical lymph nodes, and the salivary glands. All of these topics are extensively discussed. Correct measurements of anatomical landmarks are crucial to discriminate normal variants from pathological conditions. Moreover, it is of crucial importance for every radiologist to be familiar with the correct measurement and localization of lymph nodes according to the established level classification. In clinical work, some common mistakes such as incorrect measurements, e.g., to measure the long axis, can lead to false radiology report and could also lead to wrong treatment of the patients. Notably, to report the lymph node levels is important for communicating with clinicians.
