Berger (Ph.D., University of New South Wales, Australia) is Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the International Studies (Globalization) Program at the University of New South Wales, Australia where he teaches modern Asian history, international history, and international politics. He is senior editor of The Rise of East Asia: Critical Visions of the Pacific Century (Routledge). He has published widely in international journals and is author of the forthcoming book The Battle for Asia: Theories of Development, the Nation-State System and the Changing Global Order. Marijke Breuning (Ph.D., Ohio State University) is Associate Professor of Political Science at Truman State University, Kirksville, Missouri, USA. She has published in International Studies Quarterly, Comparative Political Studies, and a number of other journals. Along with John Ishiyama, she is Book Review Editor for International Politics. John T. Ishiyama (Ph.D., Michigan State University) is Associate Professor of Political Science at Truman State University, Kirksville, Missouri, USA. He has published extensively in the area of comparative and post-communist politics, including articles in Comparative Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Political Science Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, Europe–Asia Studies, and Party Politics. Along with Marijke Breuning, he is Book Review Editor for International Politics. Alynna J. Lyon (Ph.D., University of South Carolina) is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA. Her research focuses on nationalism, ethnic conflict, and international politics. Her recent publications appear in the Journal of International Relations and Development and Ethnic and Racial Studies. In 1999, she was named the winner of the Ethnicity, Nationalism and Migration Section of the International Studies Association graduate paper competition. Mary E. Her research interests and written work focus on the social construction of state roles, environmental policy, and international organizations. Peter M. Sanchez (Ph.D., University of Texas at Austin) is Associate Professor of Political Science at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, USA. His principal research interests include democratization and US–Latin American relations. He has published articles in Comparative Politics, Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy, Peace Review, International Journal on World Peace, Journal of Developing Areas, and PS: Political Science and Politics, among others.
