Abstract—Mobile Adhoc Networks having self organizing and self configuring network without the need of any centralized base station and physical connections of mobile devices. Mobile ad-hoc network has no fixed topology due to mobility of nodes, interference, path loss and multipath propagation. Therefore, MANET has to need dynamic routing protocols for these networks to function properly for delivering the data packets from source node to desired destination. In MANETs, the nodes make the mobile and battery operated. Since the nodes have limited battery resources and multi-hop routes are used over a changing network environment due to behavior of the node mobility, it requires energy aware efficient routing protocols to limit the power consumption, make longer the battery life time and to improve the robustness of the system. In this paper we evaluates the performance of well-known and widely investigated in terms of energy efficiency and it also proposes a new routing algorithm that modifies AOMDV and it provides better performance compared to all the protocols in the presence of scenario with high traffic and long simulation time. Keywords— MANET, Routing protocols, Energy efficient routing, AOMDV .

INTRODUCTION
Mobile Ad hoc Networks is a robust infrastructure less wireless network having mobile nodes. A MANET can be created either by mobile nodes or by both static and dynamic mobile nodes. A mobile node has arbitrarily associated with each other forming uniformed topologies. They serve up as both routers and hosts [1, 2, and 4]. The capability of mobile routers to self-configure makes this technology suitable for provisioning communication to, for instance, tragedy-strike areas where there is no communication infrastructure, forums, or in disaster search and rescue operations where a network connection is instantly required. Because the routing information makes MANET’s is changeable and any where any time number of nodes can be incremented with long time to other node in the wireless network. The major motive for this is the constant change in network topology because of
highest degree of node mobility. Due to the open arrangement and scarcely available battery-based energy efficiency, node misbehaviors may be present. In this paper we find out an energy efficient routing protocol with limit power consumption of mobile nodes in the network in order to extend the network life time. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate AOMDV protocol for ways it could be improved and it has done by me
