Cardiac arrest: case report In a case series of 2 patients, a 30-year-old woman was described, who developed cardiac arrest during treatment with phentolamine for haemorrhagic left adrenal mass. The woman presented with flash pulmonary oedema and abdominal pain. Transthoracic echocardiography showed inverse Takotsubo’s cardiomyopathy and CT abdomen showed a haemorrhagic left adrenal mass. Therefore, she was started on phentolamine [route and dosage not stated]. However, phentolamine precipitated the cardiac arrest [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. The woman was successfully resuscitated and peripheral venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) was started for worsening of cardiogenic shock. After 4 days, she was decannulated from ECMO and underwent robotic adrenalectomy without any event. O’Connor P, et al.
