Phenytoin Stokes-Adams syndrome: case report
A 26-year-old man developed Stokes-Adams syndrome during treatment with phenytoin for focal nonmotor dyscognitive epileptic events. The man presented with a 5-day history of new-onset focal nonmotor dyscognitive epileptic events. He had consumed cocaine 2 days prior. After 3 days of treatment with oral phenytoin 100mg three times a day for focal nonmotor dyscognitive epileptic events, he developed a convulsive status epilepticus. At the same time, he developed a third-degree atrioventricular block. He was diagnosed with Stokes-Adams syndrome [outcome not stated]. Caire-Herrera L, et al.
