The highest values of tear force under the conditions of moderate spraying of aerosol glues and their holding for 3–6 min for EconoTac2 glue and for 1 min for ContactS glue are obtained. The technological recommendations concerning the application of aerosol glues are presented. It is shown that the procedure of spraying of EconoTac2 glue in small and moderate amounts and ContactS glue in moderate amounts results in a considerable increase in the ultimate strength in bending. Keywords: aerosol glue, reinforcing material, glass fabric, polymeric composites, vacuum infusion.
The polymeric composite materials are extensively used in engineering due to a complex of unique properties. As one of the technological processes of manufacturing products made of polymeric composite materials, we can mention infusive soaking (vacuum infusion). In this process, the processes of suction of a resin (binder) and soaking of the reinforcing material occur due to the drop of pressure formed as a result of evacuation of the working cavity of the mold. If the technology of vacuum infusion is used for the production of workpieces (parts), then special attention should be given to the operation of introduction of dry and slippery reinforcing fillers. In order to fix dry layers of the filler in the package, it is customary to use two types of joining elements (tackifier and binder). Generally speaking, tackifier is a glue with low adhesive strength, which guarantees the possibility of detachment of elements and their repeated gluing. The binder is a substance with binding or gluing properties. Under the conditions of individual or low-series production, it is customary to use tackifiers of various compositions. The tackifier is applied in the form of a liquid or in the form of a two-sided sticky strip. The application of liquid tackifiers is possible by the contact and aerosol methods. The use of a mesh tape made of the glass fabric, which is sticky on both sides (e.g., Tac-Strip of the “Airtech” firm) or an ordinary painting strip is a very simple but unreliable way to fix the reinforcing filler. In the CIS countries, there is a limited collection of specialized tackifiers (in what follows, we call them “glues”). However, numerous types of glues suitable for temporary fixation and satisfying the household needs are present on the market. It is known [1] that, as a result of spraying of aerosol glues designed for the domestic use, one may get too thick or nonuniform sticky layers, which may decelerate or completely block the propagation of the binder between the layers. As a result, the plastic material becomes highly porous or contains a great number of nonimpregnated zones, which leads to a decrease in the strength of the product and increases the risk of stratification under loading. Therefore, in order to fix the reinforcing filler in the c
