Various toxicities: 4 case reports In a retrospective cohort study of 19 patients, 4 patients [ages and sexes not stated] were described, who developed recurrent uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections, uncomplicated rectal bleeding, interstitial lung disease exacerbation or neutropenia following treatment with azathioprine or mycophenolate for primary Sjogren’s syndrome-associated interstitial lung disease. The patients, who had primary Sjogren’s syndrome-associated interstitial lung disease (ILD), received azathioprine (2 patients) and mycophenolate (2 patients) [routes and dosages not stated]. Azathioprine was discontinued in one patient after ten years of use because of recurrent uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections. Azathioprine was stopped in second patient after three years due to uncomplicated rectal bleeding. The third patient was switched from mycophenolate to azathioprine because of an ILD exacerbation. The fourth patient developed mild neutropenia due to mycophenolate treatment [time to reactions onsets and outcomes not stated]. Amlani B, et al.
