Ciclopirox Allergic contact dermatitis: case report A 43-year-old woman, who had onychomycosis and interdigital tinea pedis, began treatment with a milk containing 1% ciclopirox [frequency of administration not clearly stated] for her tinea pedis. Fourteen days later, she developed intensely pruritic erythemato-vesicular and subsequently erythemato-squamous lesions in her interdigital spaces that spread to the upper surface of her feet and to her toes. Intense positivity for 1% ciclopirox (vehicle petrolatum) and ciclopirox [Micoxolamina] milk as is, was shown on patch testing, but not for other components of the treatment product, or for petrolatum. She received a 15-day course of topical corticosteroids, and her allergic contact dermatitis healed. Romano C, et al. Contact dermatitis due to ciclopiroxolamine.
