1. This book centres on codesign: the idea that different people with differing ideas and motivations, from a variety of backgrounds and with different skills can take part in a series of conversations that seek to change the state of things. To do so, these conversations must gradually lead to a multiplicity of intermediate results, they must: align the ideas and motivations of the various participants; produce shared visions and aims; create the conditions whereby participants are able to make best use of their skills and abilities; develop their aptitude for collaboration in order to determine what steps to take and put their decisions into effect. How and why this may happen is a theme that has been widely addressed in recent years.
