In the original publication of the article, the sentence “If we assume that everyone in the beginning is susceptible (S(t 0) 1), then Eq. 1.10 implies that k1/k2 > 1
(1.13)
is the condition for growth.” which includes the Eq. 1.13 under the section “1.2 SIR sub-population models” was erroneously included. Hence, the entire sentence and the equation should be removed.
