Infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture: case report In a cohort study involving 1513 patients with vascular aneurysm, who underwent dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) between January 2013 and May 2018, a 76-year-old man was described, who developed an infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) rupture during an uncomplicated DSE [route, dosage and indication not stated]. The man, who had an enlarging 80mm infrarenal AAA, was scheduled to undergo DSE. He also had hypertension, peripheral artery disease and a history of coronary artery bypass surgery. He then received dobutamine [route and dosage not stated] as a part of DSE and was discharged from the stress laboratory. Within 2h of the discharge, the infrarenal AAA ruptured and he died of it. Author comment: "However, 1 patient with a very large AAA (0.2% of the overall cohort) had rupture and died within hours of DSE[Dobutamine stress echocardiography]. " Kucuk HO, et al.
