Bony erosion: case report In a case series of 5 patient, a 62-year-old man developed bony erosion during treatment with docetaxel and gemcitabine for malignant soft tissue sarcoma of the sella. The man, who was diagnosed with malignant soft tissue sarcomas of the sella, underwent an operation via a transsphenoidal approach. He was also treated with proton beam radiation therapy as well as gemcitabine and docetaxel [dosages and routes not stated], which showed complete response. However, a large skull base defect and rhinorrhoea were noted. MRI showed significant bony erosion without cerebrospinal fluid leakage, which was attributed to these therapies [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. The man’s large skull base defect and rhinorrhoea required an in-patient repair [not all outcomes stated]. Gupta S, et al.
