Elections and Democratization in the Middle East
The series Elections, Voting, Technology examines the relationships between people, electoral processes and technologies, and democracy. Elections are a fundamental aspect of a free and democratic society and, at their core, they involve a citizenry making selections for who will represent them. This series examines the ways in which citizens select their candidates—the voting technologies used, the rules of the game that govern the process—and considers how changes in processes and technologies affect the voter and the democratic process. Thad Hall is an associate professor of political science at the University of Utah and a research affiliate with the Caltech/MIT Voting Technology Project.
