Since the beginning of the use of neuroendoscopy, the treatment of hydrocephalus has been the main objective. For more than a hundred years, the technical and therapeutic efforts have been aimed at improving the technique and its results. Also, education through numerous congresses, symposia, and workshops around the world during the last 20 years has strengthened and consolidated the procedure, as well as a new way of understanding the physiopathology of the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid. Many of the dogmas of the past have fallen, opening the way to new concepts of treatment. It is strictly necessary that this knowledge encompasses not only the neurosurgeons but also to its clinical environment, i.e., to its anesthesiology team of intensive care of adult and pediatric patients, internal medicine, and neurology. The ISGNE - International Study Group of Neuroendoscopy, transformed into IFNE - International Federation of Neuroendoscopy, was founded in 2001 so that the experience of the great Masters was transmitted and applied by all of us. No doubt at the beginning of the new millennium, minimal invasion neurosurgery will be more consolidated. T
