La-Zn (Lanthanum-Zinc) H. Okamoto

The La-Zn phase diagram in [Massalski2] was redrawn from [1941Rol]. Five compounds (LaZn, LaZn2, LaZn4, LaZn8, and LaZn13) were shown and the La-rich part of the phase diagram was incomplete. [2010Qi] reviewed this system and proposed an optimized phase diagram in which three more com-

pounds (LaZn5, La3Zn22, and LaZn11) exist. The LaZn8 phase in [1941Rol] was changed to La2Zn17 according to [1961Gsc]. Figure 1 shows the calculated La-Zn phase diagram. Table 1 shows La-Zn crystal structure data.
