DURING recent years, we have witnessed the development and practical application of a novel approach to the production of a high-strength linepipe steel which can readily meet the mechanical property requirements of the ISO 3183 and API 5L speciļ¬cations at yield strength levels well in excess of 520 MPa, and probably up to at least 620 MPa.
