The spirit of democracy, the rule of law and the celebration of diversities of all kinds and pluralism and multiculturalism are foundational to the relationship between India and Canada. The relationship between two vibrant democracies is not only restricted to the above-mentioned values but has got reflected in diplomatic interactions, economic engagement and ties between citizens of the two nations. The people of Indian origin constitute more than three per cent of the Canadian population and are well integrated into the economic and sociocultural spheres of Canada.
