Octreotide Allergic reaction and hypertension in children: 2 case reports Two children with chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction developed an allergic reaction and hypertension, respectively, while receiving IV octreotide daily [ages, sexes, dosages and times to reaction onset not stated]. Octreotide was discontinued in the first patient and the second patient responded following dose reduction. These patients were among nine patients identified in a retrospective review. For the group as a whole, the octreotide dosages ranged from 0.2 to 1 µg/kg/day (divided into 1–3 doses) and duration of therapy was 2–15 months. Rodriguez L, et al.
