This project was inspired by a first-year writing course that I teach at the University of Illinois at Chicago titled “Nostalgia, Media, and American Culture.” I am grateful to my students for contributing so many useful insights and observations about social media, video games, television and film. These bright and dedicated young people give me hope about the future.
