Prednisolone Coxitis and psychiatric symptoms: case report A 59-year-old woman with autoimmune haemolytic anaemia received first line therapy with prednisolone [dosages, routes and duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated], after an initial presentation in 01/09. After tapering of prednisolone led to a relapse of haemolysis, her dose was increased and danazol was initiated in 04/09. She developed side effects of prednisolone, including coxitis and psychiatric symptoms. She started treatment with rituximab in 08/09, as well as low dose prednisolone, and subsequently ciclosporin. After failure of established therapies, mycophenolate mofetil was introduced. Immune globulins were also started, and prednisolone could be withdrawn [outcome not stated]. Zipperer E, et al.
