PREPARATION LOW-ENERGY CONTENT CEMENT FROM TECHNOGENIC RAW MATERIALS N. N. Zhanikulov,1,3 B. T. Taimasov,1 I. N. Borisov,2 M. S. Dauletiyarov,1 M. Zh. Aitureev,1 and Zh. K. Dzhanmuldaeva1 Translated from Novye Ogneupory, No. 3, pp. 34 – 40, March, 2020.
Original article submitted September 16, 2019. Results of preparing Portland cement by low-energy technology using technogenic raw materials are presented. Coal mining waste and tephritobasalt in a ratio of 1:1 are used as the clay component, and granulated lead slags are used instead of scarce pyrite cinder. Correlation of the influence of charge compositions, saturation coefficient, silicate and alumina moduli, firing regimes with chemical and mineral composition and clinker and cement quality are established. Composition of the raw material mixtures is calculated according to a ROCS program, and the free CaO content in clinker composition is determined. Experimental cement strength is tested after hardening for 7 and 28 days. Its physicomechanical characteristics and structure are studied. Keywords: low-energy cement, technogenic raw materials, clinker, clinker formation, saturation coefficient (SC), silicate modulus (n), alumina modulus (p), fuel consumption.
improve clinker quality, to increase cement output, and to improve its quality [5 – 7]. The efficiency of low-energy content raw material mixtures from the technogenic raw material proposed includes the fact that the mineral composition of granulated lead slags is similar to that of Portland cement clinker. Slags within the composition of a raw material mix entirely replace the adjustment additive, partly aluminosilicate and carbonate components. As research by the authors of the present article has shown, in individual cases it will be necessary to adjust the raw material mix composition with iron-containing or aluminate components. For this there may be successful use of lead slags and magmatic rocks containing a significant amount iron and aluminum oxides [8].
INTRODUCTION Currently in Kazakhstan there is intensive industry and house building. The amount and range of building materials and objects increases. In April 2019 a cement plant was put into operation for producing grouting cement (Kyzylordin region) with a capacity of 1.0 million tons/year [3]. Since in each year a greater amount of cement is required, it is necessary to reduce the price of cement due to using technogenic materials for production and also to improve the ecological situation for the region [4]. The authors of the present article have used several forms of coal mining waste and lead slags in order to prepare energy and resource saving Portland cement. It is possible to prepare a low-energy content raw material mixture from these wastes for low-temperature firing of cement clinker. Processes of clinker formation within them are completed at 1340 – 1350°C, which makes it possible to increase rotary furnace productivity by 10 – 15%, to reduce specific heat consumption for firing by 10 – 15%, to 1 2 3
