Writing this book has been a labour of love and trepidation, which in the original Latin context refers to both fear and ‘trembling movement.’ Throughout the process I have been concerned about capturing lives of the women and men, whose experiences and artful expressions constitute the data upon which this book is based, fully and with sufficient ‘truth’ or clarity. These feelings run through most creative endeavours and in this instance they kept me thinking, albeit somewhat ‘trembly’ at times, and actively remembering the powerful things they shared with myself and the other team members during the research. I am deeply grateful to the six women in Vancouver, British Columbia, and five
