Abstract In telemedicine, communication of medical images through emancipated systems similar to web is transcendent. While communicating, the medical images might be tampered by intruders. The specialist comprehensively hinge on the content of region of interest (ROI) in medical image for electing healing processes. To flee specious diagnosis, the professional needs to authorize the integrity of region of interest of the image formerly making diagnostic conclusions. Based on Slantlet transform (SLT) and singular value decomposition (SVD), this paper exhibits a novel watermarking framework for medical images to spot the altered areas inside ROI and reinstate the ROI. 1 Introduction Telehealth supports healthcare systems. Telehealth assist providers in increasing access to rural healthcare and also expanding the quality of rural healthcare. Telehealth diminishes the difficulties that the patients’ experience when it is used for conveying healthcare amenities in rural areas. An example for the difficulties the patients’ generally face is travelling for long distance for specialty care. Telehealth also advance nursing, timeliness and services in the healthcare system. Medical images play a crucial role in deciding apt therapeutic processes to be used in the treatment and also to assess the reclamation. While the image is transported, it could be changed or deteriorated by hackers [1]. To beat such ethical and legal problems likewise to control the privacy, integrity and malpractice liabilities, digital watermarking is getting used [2–4]. Digital watermarking consists of 2 main steps; concealing and extraction. In the concealing step, special information known as watermark is concealed in image.
