Depigmentation: case report A 34-year-old man, who had not responded to topical calcipotriol, tars or corticosteroids, started narrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy for psoriasis. Following 12 exposures, with a cumulative dose of 6369 mJ/cm2 over 4 weeks, his psoriasis had almost cleared. However, welldemarcated, depigmented areas with white hairs developed on his knees and elbows, in the areas where his psoriasis had been. Biopsies revealed an absence of melanocytes in the basal layer and melanin stain was negative. He received topical calcipotriol and corticosteroids, but his depigmentation persisted for 5 months.
