Preface

It was a mere coincidence that brought four of us together—several years ago we needed to contribute to an exciting National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) project that looked at the possibility of developing a decision support tool to help local policymakers build their business cases for tobacco control. At the time, each of us was at different career paths, and none of us realised this collaboration would eventually lead to a book of this nature.
