Preface
Kala-azar disease is geographically and temporally limited by variations in environmental variables such as temperature, humidity, rainfall, vegetation, and land use pattern. Due to the absence of any suitable “epidemic prediction tool,” it is very difficult to forewarn epidemic outbreaks or to make any strategic plan and combat this menace. Customary GIS tools and the open-source GIS software have extended their presentations to both operate core functionality and inflate upon these utilities through software extensions. This book includes a practical coverage of the use of open-source software solutions in public health problems, particularly in vectorborne disease control programs. This book titled Spatial Mapping and Modelling for Kala-Azar Disease gives an overview and discusses approaches and case studies to ex
