My journey to the world of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) first began with my personal interest in the use of computers for English language learning over 30 years ago. At that time, computers were not very common in educational institutions and the idea of using computers for language learning was not widely accepted mainly due to the lack of computer facilities and language learning software programs. Since then, there have been significant changes to educational scenes along with the rapid development of computer technology and the Internet. Computers have become part of everyday life and digital devices are easily found almost everywhere. I have been able to see and experience the changes with a keen interest as a pre-service teacher, an in-service teacher and then a teacher educator. With increasing access to computer technologies, a great number of attempts have been made to use the technologies in the language classroom while exploring the pedagogical questions of why teachers need CALL, what they can do with CALL and how they teach with CALL. When the questions are discussed in langu
