We would like to express our gratitude to all those colleagues who have reviewed for the journal this year. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us and we hope that you and your families are safe and well. Yet, amidst the ongoing pandemic, 261 reviewers have kindly accepted invitations to support the peer review process for manuscripts received by Instructional Science. The recommendations of the reviewers are instrumental in assisting the Instructional Science Editorial Team render their decisions. A constructive and thoughtful peer review is the backbone of scholarly progress. Among academics there are many stories about, and even criticism of, the peer review process. Despite the disappointment in having a manuscript returned to the authors with substantial comments, which may lead to major revisions and even to a rejection decision, most authors also point to the benefits of peer reviewing and acknowledge that this process is essential in improving a manuscript. To all peer reviewers of Instructional Science, we, wholeheartedly, thank you for the time, effort, and care with which you approached each review assigned to you this last year. Thank you for your support in helping us disseminate scholarly output and advance scientific knowledge.
